Lampwork Bracelet with Tumbaga Hamsa

This is a one of a kind handcrafted Lampwork Bracelet with Tumbaga Hamsa.  It features lampwork made by Canadian artists and a central Hamsa motif made out of Tumbaga (an ancient Columbian mixture of Gold and Copper). The Hamsa is a palm-shaped talisman popular throughout the world. It is an image recognized and used as a sign of protection against evil forces and to bring goodness to the wearer. The closed hand Hamsa is believed to provide the owner happiness, luck, health and good fortune. In Islam, it is also known as the hand of Fatima, so named to commemorate Muhammad’s daughter Fatima Zahra. In Judaism it is known as the hand of Miriam.

Tumbaga was widely used by the pre-Columbian cultures of Central America to make religious objects. Like most gold alloys, tumbaga was versatile and could be cast, drawn, hammered, gilded, soldered, welded, plated, hardened, annealed, polished, engraved, embossed, and inlaid.

The handcrafted glass disks are made by a Toronto based artist.
Each piece is individually designed to fit any woman’s everyday life or even be the perfect gift to that special person.
The elastic in the bracelet fits a 7 1/2 to 8 inch wrist.
